Abuse and Conspiracies Following the Golders Green Attack

In April 2026, two Jewish men were stabbed in Golders Green, London. On X, the responses were vicious. Again.
CCDH analysed 130 hateful replies to posts by 10 prominent British Jewish personalities and organisations on X. Some celebrated the attack claiming Jewish people deserved the violence. Others minimised the Holocaust, called for deportation, and spread antisemitic slurs.
Every one of those replies appeared to violate X's own rules. This is not the first time X fails to comply with the UK Online Safety Act and stop antisemitism. In 2025, following the Heaton Park synagogue attack in Manchester, where two Jewish people died, we found the same pattern: abuse, threats, and calls for violence left up on the platform.

Key findings:
- CCDH identified 130 antisemitic replies on X to posts by 10 prominent British Jewish figures, including Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, television personalities and journalists.
- X is failing to enforce its own rules. The posts identified appear to be in breach of X’s policy on hateful conduct and violent content.
- The 100 most-viewed posts spreading conspiracy theories that the attack was a “false flag” orchestrated by Israel, Mossad, or Jewish people themselves amassed more than 250,000 views. Not one carried a Community
What happens next
Following CCDH findings after the Manchester attack, Ofcom announced that X entered into a compliance program to tackle illegal hate and terror content.
