CCDH's new report shows that 10 X (Twitter) accounts promoting anti-Jewish, anti-Muslim & anti-Palestinian hate grew 4 times faster after October 7.
New research by CCDH shows that X (formerly Twitter) continues to host nearly 86% of a set of 300 hateful posts after a week since we reported them. As of September 7th 2023, tweets promoting and glorifying antisemitism, anti-Black racism, neo-Nazism, white supremacy and/or other racism were still up.
Organizations and experts expressed concern about the recent legal moves by X —formerly known as Twitter— against the Center for Countering Digital Hate and efforts to silence criticism of the platform. We view these efforts as a threat to the right to freedom of expression, resulting in a dangerous chilling effect on civil society, experts, and advocates – and ultimately the public, which deserves to know how Twitter/X and similar platforms are spreading hate and disinformation.
